Ng Yeow Tong
Director, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer
Yeow Tong has more than 25 years of investment management experience in Asia ex-Japan equities and has worked out of the U.S., Taiwan and Singapore.
Yeow Tong first joined Luminous (previously known as Kingsmead Asset Management) in 2016 as a Senior Vice President for Kingsmead Asian Alpha Opportunities Fund and later the Portfolio Manager for the Kingsmead Vietnam and Indochina Growth Fund. He was previously the CIO at Eastspring Investments Taiwan where he oversaw equity funds, bond funds and global asset allocation funds; managed Taiwan equity institutional mandate by strengthening the investment process discipline and led investment team’s collaboration with external investment advisors that enhanced local expertise in international equity.
He obtained his MBA from Stephen M. Ross School of Business at University of Michigan and Bachelor of Accountancy from National University of Singapore. Yeow Tong is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
Hyde Chen
Director
Hyde Chen is the Chief Investment Officer of AK&Co., a private multi-industry investment holding company. Based in Hong Kong, Hyde is responsible for the overall asset allocation and major investment decisions of the company, including its financial investments as well as operating assets.
With over 15 years of investment experience in the global financial industry, Hyde previously served as the Chief Investment Officer and the Head of Investment Strategy for Haitong International Securities’ Private Wealth Management and Asset Management divisions, respectively, where he managed global equities, fund of hedge funds and multi-asset portfolios, and formulated strategic and tactical asset allocation strategies. He also held the position of Executive Director in UBS Wealth Management’s Chief Investment Office, where he was responsible for cross-asset investment strategies in the Greater China markets. Prior to that, Hyde worked as an equity research analyst at Bernstein Research and CLSA, focusing on Asian technology industry. Before entering finance, Hyde was a management consultant at McKinsey & Company and a project manager at Dell Technologies and ASUSTeK Computer.
Hyde holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University. He is also a CFA charterholder.
Padraig Hoare
Director
Padraig Hoare is an independent director at Ironstone Directors. Padraig has been working in the financial services industry in the Cayman Islands for over 25 years with extensive experience in the funds and banking sectors, including administration, risk management and compliance. Padraig provides director and related governance services to private equity funds, hedge funds, special purpose vehicles and holding companies in the Cayman Islands, the British Virgin Islands, and Delaware.
Prior to his independent directorship role, Padraig spent 8 years with Admiral Administration Ltd. as Head of Risk Management for the Admiral Group which has offices in the Cayman Islands, U.S., Canada and Ireland. Admiral, now part of the Maitland Group, is a hedge fund administration company. Prior to Admiral, Padraig spent 8 years with Dresdner Bank Lateinamerika AG in Cayman Islands, departing as Head of Projects and Compliance. Prior to this, Padraig held senior audit positions at Grant Thornton in the Cayman Islands and in Ireland for 2 years and 4 years respectively.
Padraig has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies from Dublin City University in Ireland and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1992. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland, a fellow of the International Compliance Association, a Certified Fraud Examiner, a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, a member of the Cayman Islands Directors Association and a former member of the executive committee of the Cayman Islands Compliance Association. Padraig is registered as a Director with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority pursuant to the Directors Registration and Licensing Act, 2014.
